At Kids Science Labs, our mission is simple but bold: To unlock every child’s natural curiosity and unleash the brilliance of their mind, so they can solve the problems we can’t yet see.
Founded in 2010 by two dads with a shared passion for innovation and education, KSL has grown into one of the most trusted science enrichment brands for children in the United States — offering award-winning STEM camps, immersive birthday parties, and inspiring science programs for kids ages 2–12.
Our Origin Story
It started in a coffee shop in Chicago, when Shegan Campbell and Keith Norsym decided they weren’t just going to find a great idea — they were going to fix a real problem.
Despite their own love for science, they realized most children don’t get to do real science experiments until high school — if at all. That disconnect was unacceptable.
So they built something different.
After getting engineering and advanced science degrees from Stanford University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, and University of Chicago, they Co-Founders worked with passionate educators, artists, and innovators to build, Kids Science Labs, the most inspired hands-on science program in the U.S.
Kids Science Labs is the result of years of research, observation, and deep passion for how kids learn best: through curiosity, creativity, and hands-on experience.

Since 2010, KSL has expanded from a single Chicago center to a growing network of beautifully designed science labs across major U.S. cities, each one crafted to deliver the most engaging hands-on science experience in the world.
